About Peter Doyle Barrister
Peter was sworn in as a constable of police on 24 February, 1984. He worked as a uniformed officer in Sydney, Liverpool and Cabramatta and was a member of the Tactical Response Group.
In 1988 Peter transferred to prosecution duties where he prosecuted matters in the Local and Children's Courts. He also assisted the Coroner in Inquests. While working as a prosecutor Peter studied for his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology at night while working during the day.
On 28 August, 1998 Peter was sworn in as a Legal Practitioner and received his practicing certificate as a solicitor. Peter left the police after serving nearly 15 years and worked for Marsdens Law Group as a solicitor for over four years. In that time he was promoted to the position as head solicitor of the Criminal Law Section of the firm.
In February 2003 Peter was called to the NSW Bar and has practiced as a barrister in private practice since that time. Peter specialises in all areas of Criminal Law. He also appears for clients in Intentional Tort cases especially Wrongful Arrest and False Imprisonment. Peter also appears in other civil cases including Equity and appears in the various Tribunals in NSW.
In the Criminal jurisdiction Peter has appeared in the High Court led by Winston Terracini SC. He appears in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal which is the highest appeal Court in NSW for criminal matters. He has appeared in numerous jury trials including Murder trials, Possession and Receiving of Rocket Launchers, Large Commercial Supply of Prohibited Drugs, Sexual Assaults, Robbery matters and many more.
Peter is also a Fellow of the NSW Criminal Defence Lawyers Association and the Commercial Law Association of NSW.
